Lesson 06: Entrepreneur Journal



This week was very wonderful, this was because I had the privilege of recording my elevator pitch and uploaded to YouTube and also shared on my class discussion board. I had wonderful feedback from my colleagues; I learned to ensure that my elevator pitch should be concise and precise. I also watched the Action Hero for this week, Phil taught me that “He feels it is important to give people what they want and this help me see the brighter light of creation”. These feelings of ensuring you give your customers what you want had a great impact on my $100 challenge project this week.
I had plans for a customer I was taking to Cape coast and he asked me what were my plans for him for the day, I told him since it was AU day, am going to let him tell me what he want and it will be done for him, he was so happy for the services I gave him as I took him to the castle and then from there to kakum national park and of course this gave me extra cedis for my project. I have made double of what I was expecting this week.
Just as Phil said “we don’t need to do something because that’s what everybody is doing and we need to do the same thing” I just decided to do that things that makes me happy and my customers want not regarding what people will say because it might be an odd to them.
My motto: Just do it!

Lesson 12: Entrepreneur Journal

This week, one of the things I learned that I would want to keep in my journal is the “ 12 essentials for striking the right balance in a family business” Set some boundaries. It’s easy for family members involved in a business to talk shop 24/7. But mixing business, personal and home life will eventually produce a volatile brew. Limit business discussions outside of the office. That’s not always possible, but at least save them for an appropriate time — not at a family wedding or funeral, for example. Establish clear and regular methods of communication. Problems and differences of opinion are inevitable. Maybe you see them already. Consider weekly meetings to assess progress, air any differences and resolve disputes. Divide roles and responsibilities. L13 Entrepreneur Journal

This week was a very amazing week for me. I have been having hard times getting asignments done on time but we were blessed with good weather this week, no rain and at least every two days there is full light till the next day. I learned great lessons from my PowerPoint presentation, even though I was not able to complete it, I learned from some of my class colleagues the importance of making a presentation so well that you can take investor into that “woow” moment.   I really enjoyed reading the file titled “WORK ON YOUR BUSINESS, NOT JUST IN YOUR BUSINESS”.
